Tickets are $25 which buys soup, bread, beverage, dessert and a handmade pottery bowl of the attendee’s choice. The bowls are the creation of some 50 area potters – many of which have done so since the beginning.

There will also be bowls from an elementary school, Palisade High, Grand Junction
High, and Fruita Monument High. Students at Colorado Mesa University also are making bowls for the event. All of this happens when a community comes together to feed those who are hungry among us.

In addition there will be music everywhere – Veronica Cukro and Martha Wood will serenade those waiting in line outside. Inside music students of Kirsten Buda and Kara Leonardi will perform in the bowl selection area. After enjoying wonderful soups donated by area restaurants guests will go into the Sweets Room where a selection of wonderful baked goods and Enstrom’s candy will be enjoyed along with the beautiful music offered by the Evergreen String Quartet

Celebrating its 23rd year, Empty Bowls has increasingly gained generous community support to feed the hungry. Catholic Outreach is a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding the hungry of the Grand Valley. Last year, 66,978 meals were prepared and served to individuals in need and the number continues to increase each year. On any given day, about 250 - 300 individuals, families and children will come for the noon-day meal.

EMPTY BOWLS is sponsored by Friends of Outreach a group of individuals of all faiths who come together each year to create this event. Over the years Empty Bowls has become a tradition for many families and individuals.
